Light vs. Darkness

As I was driving down some curvy roads the other day God revealed something to me, He took something as simple as driving down a road & showed me something very important. I have driven down this road before at night & I couldn’t really see anything except for what my headlights showed right in front of me. Everything else was darkness. Now in the day time I was able to see that there was no shoulder on this road, only a big drop off right at the edge of the road to my right & left. Many people speed down these roads at night not even knowing that with the slightest bump pushing them to the right or left they are going to be in a real bad situation. But we aren’t able to see these things so we speed along doing whatever we want completely oblivious of the dangers around us. Now when I travel down this same road in the day time I can see all the dangers next to me & I am a lot more cautious. Us Christians are supposed to be of the light, were not supposed to be in the darkness. The darkness blinds us so we can’t see the whole picture, so we just speed along not worrying about anything because we don’t see any of the dangers, the harm, or the wrong. That’s the way the devil wants us. He wants us blinded & seeing through just one tiny headlight, right in front of us & what he wants to put in front of us so we only see what he wants us to. God wants us to be of the light so we can have the wisdom to not only recognize the hazards but to also avoid them, not to worry about them, but to see them. If we actually saw the truth of these things instead of what the devil makes them appear to be we wouldn’t be driving so recklessly so near to them. We think were just doing small, innocent things or making one small mistake but when you are going 90 mph right next to that huge drop off we don’t know what that one tiny mistake could lead to. This is the biggest reason we are called to be in the light. There is a big difference in the day verses the night.
