“The Lord will have gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.” ~ 2 Sam 5:24
2 Sam 3:39 “I am weak today, though anointed king; & these men the sons of Zeruiah are too difficult for me. May the Lord repay the evildoer according to his evil.”
•We are all God’s anointed, God’s chosen, & God’s marked people.
•We are all royalty.
•David had fought many battles & had many victories, but that didn’t stop him from relying on God. David did not allow his victories & blessings from God to make him cocky & full of himself.
•David was humble enough to listen to God, take a step back, admit that he was weak, admit that the task was too hard for him, & allow God to fight the battle for him.
•Let God Fight Your Battles For You.
•God never intended for us to do things on our own.
•He didn’t build us for that.
•If we try to go into battle on our own or make decisions on our own we are going to fail because we don’t have the ability, the strength, or the knowledge.
•God created us to be dependent on Him.
•If we allow God to guide us, strengthen us, & fight our battles we can have confidence in knowing we will always have victory.
2 Sam 5:24 “The Lord will have gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”
•David did not try to go fight this battle on his own.
•Instead, he asked God for guidance on what to do.
•God answered him with very clear instructions on where to go, what to do, & what specific times to do them at.
•David obeyed the exact instructions of God which allowed God to go in to battle before David & strike all David’s enemy’s out.
•Sometimes the things God asks us to do might look scary. It might seem impossible. But we serve a God that can make anything possible. He wants us to trust Him. He doesn’t want us to fear our enemies, or fear the tasks and instructions He gives us. He only wants us to fear Him.
•If we just follow His steps & instructions He will lead the way & go ahead of us to do all the hard work. That way we may obtain it easily.
•God is going ahead of us & laying down each stepping stone so that we can easily walk into the blessings He has for us, into the perfect job He has for us, into the relationship He has for us, into the friendship, the church, the hobbies He has for us!
Prayer:
“In Jesus name I claim the blessings God has for me. I claim the plans He has for me. Let Your Will be done in my life, Lord. Let me have the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, & discernment I need to make the right choices & follow Your Will. Keep me on the right path. Thank you so much for all you do for me. Thank you for all the hard work You are doing behind closed doors right now. Thank you for laying each stepping stone carefully so that I can walk easily where You want me to go. Continue to open the doors You want opened for me & close the ones that need to be closed in my life. While the next door is still closed I will praise you & trust you while I wait patiently for You to come open it for me. In Jesus name, Amen.” ~ BlessedBabe
